Named after the rock that serves as one of its most breathtaking landmarks, Gibraltar has been a British Overseas Territory since 1713. Over the years, the territory has gained more of a foothold in the European markets and has become an increasingly popular place to travel to via private jet charter.
Private travel to Gibraltar with MS Aviation allows you flexibility in accessing the territory for its prospering economy or to enjoy the stunning natural landscapes and rich historical sites the territory has to offer.
Gibraltar is serviced by Gibraltar International Airport (GIB or LXGB), which is otherwise known as North Front Airport. The airport is located on the southern tip of Spain and is only a few kilometres from North Africa. With an elevation of 16ft and a runway length of 1777m, the Gibraltar International Airport is suitable for all private jet charters.
When you charter a flight to Gibraltar with MS Aviation, our concierge team can organise tarmac access for a chauffeur once you have landed to take you onto your next stop.
Originally built during World War II to serve the British Naval base, the runway of Gibraltar International Airport sits out over the ocean, having been constructed from rock excavated from the Rock of Gibraltar itself. This means that, upon entry, passengers are greeted with beautiful views of the Mediterranean coastline and both the continents of Europe and Africa. The airport itself is situated against the famous Rock of Gibraltar, offering spectacular views during take-off and landing.
Gibraltar’s airport is situated just 500m from the city centre, allowing you to peruse the city, take in the sights, or reach the business districts, before returning to your jet with ease. The airport is also just a 5-minute drive from Sunborn Gibraltar, a 5-star yacht hotel.
This joint military/civilian airport welcomes a wide range of aircraft and has one runway suitable for private jet flights. Additionally, the airport’s terminal building is adjacent to Gibraltar’s land border with Spain, making it a good alternative to the airports in southern Spain. Therefore, whilst this is the only airport in Gibraltar, many people also use it for convenient access to the Costa Del Sol, Costa de la Luz and Spain, due to its close proximity.
One other unique feature of this airport is that the Rock of Gibraltar causes unusual wind patterns on approach to the airport. This means that pilots and crew have to undergo special training in order to take off or land in this airport and our highly experienced MS Aviation pilots are all fully qualified for this.

Whilst offering alternative options, please note that the Gibraltar International Airport is the only airport within the territory of Gibraltar itself.
